Restorative dentistry refers to the diagnosis and restoration of damaged or missing teeth to desired functionality and appearance. Following are common restorative procedures that we offer our patients.
Tooth-colored fillings
At our Miami, FL practice, we use the highest-quality and most aesthetically pleasing materials to fill our patients’ cavities. The materials come in a wide range of shades that allow us to achieve a custom match for each of our patients.
Crowns
A crown is a tooth-colored cap or covering for a damaged tooth, providing protection for that tooth, as well as a flawless appearance. Crowns are commonly used for teeth that are cracked, broken, heavily filled, or very discolored. At Batista Smile Design, we take the time to custom-design crowns for each unique tooth, ensuring that the shape, fit, and color are perfect.
Dental Bridges
Bridges are used to fill the gap left by an extracted or missing tooth. They are made of ceramic material that’s color-matched to your other teeth. We first take an impression of your mouth and then design the bridge. Typically, the ceramic tooth is fused between crowns placed on both sides of the missing tooth. This technique anchors the new tooth into place.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are screws placed in your jawbone, and they bond with your natural bone. They become a sturdy base for supporting one or more artificial teeth, called crowns. Dental implants are a helpful solution to restore your mouth function. To read more about dental implants click here.
ROOT CANALS
You’ve probably heard all of the jokes about root canals, as in, “I’d rather have a root canal then spend a week with that guy.” But with the use of the most advanced dental tools and modern anesthetics, such as those we use at Batista Smile Design, root canals are generally quite painless. We also offer nitrous oxide for patients who would like that option.
EXTRACTIONS
At Batista Smile Design, we do everything we can to prevent tooth loss in our patients. But sometimes, due to infection, traumatic injury, decay, overcrowding, or advanced gum disease, it’s necessary to remove a tooth. Wisdom teeth also commonly need to be removed.
We are experts at tooth extraction and are fully equipped to perform extractions right here in our Miami office. Our approach is one of precision combined with a gentle touch. Our goal is to make our patients as comfortable as possible both during the procedure and afterward.
